Details: The stop-parsing symbol (-%), introduced in Windows PowerShell 3.0, directs Windows PowerShell to refrain from interpreting input as Windows PowerShell commands or expressions. When calling an executable program in Windows PowerShell, place the stop-parsing symbol before the program arguments. My end game is to wrap this in invoke-command, to feed a list of PCs, and run the exe on all of them. For now, i'm just trying to run an exe with parameters from powershell. I can run it from a command line and from a scheduled task. But not from powershell. The argument list has a bunch of quotes and backslashes in it. The command line program shown here is located at C: 7za.exe.7-Zip Command-Line. Here: Two variable Strings are declared. The two strings indicate two argument parameters we want to use with the executable. Arguments: The arguments String here is composed of five Strings concatenated together with the & operator. Start a new CMD shell and (optionally) run a command/executable program. Syntax CMD charset options CMD charset options /C Command CMD charset options /K Command Options /C Run Command and then terminate /K Run Command and then return to the CMD prompt. This is useful for testing, to examine variables Command: The command, program or batch script to be run.

I have this program that I'm able to launch via command prompt in Windows or via a crafted .lnk when adding the specified arguments like this:
By reading the documentation it seems that Wine interprets the arguments in the same way Windows does, and even when I'm certain that it is true for arguments presented in this way:
Run Exe With Arguments
It is not working for those arguments described above, maybe I'm missing some sort of escaping for some characters?
I've tried launching the application in this way: Yodot recovery software reviews.
But didn't worked, all I got was a generic error message from my program.
I believe that it is because I'm not passing the arguments the correct way, because if I craft a .lnk file in Windows updating its locations to match my Wine's prefix installation and then navigate to it via Wine's explorer.exe and double click on it, my program runs flawlessly.

Try this
- The exec commands tell bash to morph into wine with the following arguments, so this is no longer bash running wine, but bash process becoming wine. The PID remains. You don't have two processes running.
The solution given to this question can be found on Unix.SE.

Only the program path and name need to be enclosed in quotes.

Only the program path is kept in quotes due to spaces in the path. Something like
My Documents
will not resolve properly due to the space between the words, so quotes are needed. This is also why you probably won't find a program with multi-word switches (that are seperate) such as --example switch
. You will usually see something like --example-switch
instead because a space constitutes a separate program argument.Run Exe With Parameters Cmd

Your quotes are in the wrong place. The quotes only go around individual paths. So move your ending quote back to the end of program.exe and leave -option1 -option2 outside of the quotes.

You can also use shortcuts for direct access to a folder or a website.
Folder:
F:CriticalFilesMS_InternetAccess
Internet:
'C:Program Files (x86)Internet Exploreriexplore.exe' 'https://www.theguardian.com/world'
I use quotes around both arguments.
I am using these because Win10 seems to lose the start menu from time to time.
